TOM YUM GOONG

Ingredients:

  • 4 fresh mushrooms
  • 8 large shrimp
  • 3 stalks of fresh lemongrass
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon roasted chili in oil
  • 5 whole fresh Thai chilies
  • 6 fresh kafir lime leaves (grated)
  • 3 small slices of fresh galangal
  • fresh coriander to decorate

Preparation:

  1. For the preparation you need to cut the galangal into small disks
  2. Also cut the lemongrass diagonally
  3. Then slice the mushrooms
  4. Wash the lime leaves and cut each leaf in half
  5. Cut Thai chillies with a knife
  6. Then you are going to wash and peel the prawns without removing the tail
  7. Now leave the broth on the fire and add the lemongrass, the galangal, the fresh chili and the lime leaves
  8. Bring to a boil and add the mushrooms, fish sauce, chili and lime juice. You can adjust the flavors by reducing the fish sauce and lime juice, depending on your taste.
  9. Now add the prawns
  10. And as soon as the prawns turn pink (cooked), serve them garnished with cilantro.
